Dhikr Night

Once a week on Wednesday evenings, the Muslim women in the community come together to Praise God and His Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him)

It is important to wash our spiritual hearts from sin and diseases at least once a week through the remembrance of Allah. We gather in the mosque to recite prophetic litanies to call on the mercy, guidance and light of God to enter our lives.

The Dhikr is a mix of Shadhili, Chishti and Ba’lawi recitation styles. We decorate the hall in a beautiful layout with wonderful scents around the room and sing our hearts out in love for Allah.

Lead Dhikr reciter: Ustadha Iffet Rafeeq
Time: Wednesday 6:45pm – 7:45pm

Tajweed (Pronunciation of Quran) Class

The Quran is the literal words of Allah Almighty, holding such a high status. It demands to be recited correctly and clearly to give it full justice.

Tajweed (pronunciation) when applied to the Quran, means to give each letter of the Quran its due rights and characteristics when it is recited. This is done by observing the rules that apply to those letters in different situations throughout the Quran.

The Quran was revealed with Tajweed (pronunciation) rules applied to it. In other words, when the Archangel Jibreel (Gabriel) recited the words of Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he recited them in a certain way and he showed the Prophet (peace be upon him) the ways in which it was permissible to recite the Quran.

It is through that particular tradition it became obligatory upon us to observe those same rules so that we recite it in the way it was revealed.

– To connect our hearts to the Noble Quran
– To learn the correct pronunciation for each letter
– To be able to apply the correct rules to every situation in the Quran
