Imam Mansoor Mahmood is currently serving as one of the Imams at Kirkcaldy Central Mosque & Community Centre. He began his Islamic education from a very young age. He was admitted to the Al-Karam Secondary School where he spent four years. After achieving his GCSEs from the school, he then continued his stay at Jamia Al-Karam by studying the 3 year Diploma in Islamic Sciences & Classical Arabic under the guidance of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada.

After graduating in the year 2007, he then moved to Egypt to study at the well renowned Al-Azhar University. He spent five years there completing a BA in Tafseer (interpretation of the Qur’an) and ‘Uloom Al-Qur’an (sciences of the Qur’an).

He returned to the UK, where he spent the next year at the Cambridge Muslim College studying the Diploma in Contextual Islamic Studies & Leadership under the tutelage of Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad.

After graduating in 2013, Imam Mansoor went onto complete a one year Diploma in Education and teaching Religious Education at the University of Aberdeen.

Seeking knowledge has never been as important as it is in the modern age. For pursuit of this sacred knowledge, Imam Mohammed Hammad began his Islamic education from a young age under the guidance of his scholarly father, Mufti Abdul Rasool Mansoor Al-Azhari.

In the year 2005, he travelled to South Africa to study under the leading intellectual and researcher, Mufti Akbar Hazarvi where he spent four years studying the classical Islamic and Qur’anic studies at Darul-Uloom Pretoria.

On completion, he returned to the UK and spent the next three years furthering his skills in Islamic Sciences & Classical Arabic under the guidance of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada in Nottinghamshire.

After graduating in 2011, he then progressed to Egypt to study at the world renowned Al-Azhar University where he spent approximately three years. During his time there, he completed several courses which include the Diploma in Arabic Language, the Diploma in International Imam Training as well as the Diploma in Economics and Islamic Theology.

For a more rounded training, Imam Mohammed Hammad joined the Cambridge Muslim College where he studied the Contextual Islamic Studies & Leadership Course under the tutelage of Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad, where key skills were explored in leading communities in the modern British society.

As a senior lecturer, he taught the classical Islamic studies program at the Oldham Islamic College during the 2013/14 academic year.

After discovering the lack of English-speaking Imams throughout Scotland, Imam Mohammed Hammad re-aimed his focused to serving the growing Muslim community in Scotland, in particular Fife.

Ustadha Afeefa Ahmed is currently a teacher and religious counsellor at the Kirkcaldy Central Mosque. In 2008 after completing the first year of her Sociology degree at Worcester University, she decided to follow her passion and pursued Islamic Studies at Jamia Al-Karam where she studied the 3-year Diploma in Islamic Sciences & Classical Arabic under the guidance of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada.

After graduating, she moved to Egypt for two years and studied at various Arabic centres as well as the well renowned Al-Azhar University. She graduated from the Al-Azhar Arabic Language Institute with a diploma in Arabic language.

Upon returning to the UK in 2013, she spent the next year at the Cambridge Muslim College studying the Diploma in Contextual Islamic Studies & Leadership under the tutelage of Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad.

 

After teaching in her home town of Worcester for a year she moved to Scotland where she is currently teaching and giving lectures at the Kirkcaldy Central Mosque.

Ustadha Iffet Rafeeq is another member of the teaching staff, leading the female section at Kirkcaldy Central Mosque.

Following her passion to seek sacred knowledge, she began her studies at the age of 16 at the well-known seminary Jamia Al-Karam, Nottinghamshire, where she completed her Islamic studies and Classical Arabic, under the guidance from Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada and Hafiz Gul Muhammad Al-Azhari.

On completion of the classical ‘Aalimah course and achieving top marks consistently, she was appointed as a teacher and a spiritual counsellor for convert Muslims. Throughout her ‘Aalimah course, she also studied part-time with Shaykh Atabek Shukurov, and Shaykh Burhan Khandia.

After graduating from Jamia Al-Karam, she was offered a full-time scholarship to study at the prestigious, world leading Islamic university of Al-Azhar University in Cairo where she studied Arabic Grammar amongst other sacred Islamic sciences.

Upon returning to the UK, she was appointed as a teacher of Islamic Theology at City Hasanat College. It was during this time that she also completed her diploma in business management.

Throughout the duration of her academic teaching year, she continued her studies with Shaykh Zain ul Aqtab Siddiqui at Suyuti Institute. Ustadha Iffet Rafeeq also has experience in teaching in both Secondary schools and higher education.

After many years of work and service, she was again awarded a scholarship in Cambridge to study the Contextualised Islamic and Leadership studies in Cambridge Muslim College under the world renowned scholar Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad.

Ustadha Iffet is the co-founder, and the chairwoman of Dust to Diamonds, a Da’wah and counselling programme tailored for modern day issues. She is also popularly known as an influential YouTuber. Nationally known as a public speaker, she travels all around the country to instil religion into the hearts of young women and help them tackle social, mental and cultural issues that disease our societies.
